Most HVAC service companies recommend that you should have an annual checkup for your air conditioner in the spring and an annual checkup for your heating unit in the late summer or fall. In both situations, it is before you begin to use the units on a regular basis. Annual checkups ensure that your air conditioner is properly charged and the refrigerant is not leaking, and the heating unit checkup makes sure that there is not a problem with carbon monoxide. As a caveat, HVAC companies note that while checkups do not guarantee a unit will not break down, they can detect problems that may cause a malfunction, which can be addressed immediately.  All HVAC companies do agree that the single most important act of preventive maintenance is to simply change the unit’s filter(s) at the recommended intervals.

Mark Woodman Plumbing & Heating offers maintenance agreements that will automatically notify you when service is due and schedule a checkup for you.  They can also discount all your service labor and parts up to 20%, including emergency service!  Call today to sign up and protect your home investments and personal health.

Water Softener
YES! Your softener must be maintained annually for optimal performance.

An annual water softener inspection and cleaning ensures that your water softener does not become plugged with debris and water particles.  Your softener has injectors and screens that can become plugged and prevent your water softener from doing its job.  If you have not had your softener inspected and cleaned within the last 2 years, we strongly suggest you schedule this service.  We have trained technicians who can ensure your softener performs optimally for years to come.
